Yes, it is a buffer system – very effective. But it also prevents the nutrition base for biological activities!

🔬 What is PS-GPS?

PS-GPS is a buffer system designed to maintain the pH of aqueous systems across a wide range (pH 6–10). It’s not just a buffer—it’s enhanced with complex structures that adds microbial protection in a non-biocidal way.

⚗️ Composition

  • Norman-Good buffer (a class of biocompatible buffering agents known for stable pH control).

  • Supramolecular complex, which:

    • Physically absorbs microbes (e.g. viruses, fungi, bacteria, algae).

    • Prevents their movement and reproduction.

    • Does not denature or chemically alter them—so it’s not considered a biocide.

🛡️ Key Benefits

  • Microbial growth suppression without traditional preservatives like MIT/CMIT or bronopol.

  • Not classified as a biocide, so:

    • No special labeling required.

    • Does not fall under BPR (Biocidal Products Regulation).

  • TSCA-listed ingredients.

  • Proven stability in water-based systems (even after 28 days at 40°C and two microbial inoculations).

  • Effective at low dosages (0.6–1.6%, depending on the specific formulation).

🧪 Application Fields

  • Paints & Coatings

  • Adhesives

  • Metalworking fluids

  • Household cleaners

  • Personal care products

💡 Why It Matters
